For this collection I was really inspired by the minimalist architecture and urban landscapes photographed by German artist Matthias Heiderich. His very painterly photographs are images of urban, suburban and especially industrial regions that, despite their close ties to society, are often devoid of people. This context might suggest that the images are grey and melancholic - quite the contrary, they are images of color and contrast.
His recordings of shape, color and contradiction translate in my collection through the sharp silhouettes, juxtapositions of fabrics and leather as well as the use of bold and strong colors.
